Great app

Love this app! The conversion from English to Spanish is awesome. It gives you several different phrases. If I cant pronounce a word, I hit the speaker and it says the phrase or word in Spanish.

I have a basic understanding of Spanish, so this is a great compliment to have as reference for those phrases Im struggling with.

Ive only used the ap for a couple of days, but its impressive in its scope and ease of use!

When I started this app had tried to learn Spanish from the Rosetta stone with very little success. I was bored and disappointed and wanted my money back. I really need to learn Spanish but how? I had several people tell me to try this free app! From the very beginning I was hooked. It is interesting, creative, challenging, and fun! It keeps track of your progress. It offers you assistance when you click on the word. It has a word matching games that are fun. It is always constantly refreshing your memory with words you have already learned mixed with new words so they become well engrained in your memory. You also get a "I know this!" feeling of success. My best hint is to use it for your daily "class" but especially when you have a few minutes to kill here and there. It remembers where you left off! Those six 5 minute trips to the bathroom become 30 minutes of a fun language class! Add the time waiting in line at McDonalds, the grocery store, etc. it really adds up. Think of those minutes as pennies in the Piggy Bank. Also I have made a dictionary of the words as I learn them on my iphone note app for review. In addition I made a section for months, days of the week, mealtimes, etc for quick review. After just one month I am now starting to listen to the Spanish news and movies. Wow! Thanks Duolingo!!!

This is the best Spanish to English/ English to Spanish app I have come across. What sets it above the rest are the copious examples it offers in the form of useful and sometimes humorous sentences and phrases which demonstrate the meaning (or meanings) of a word from all angles.

To the point and makes Spanish understandable.

Ok app just bugs you all the time to write a review & Ive barely started using it

I am taking AP Spanish Literature this year and so far this app has been helpful. I still have yet to try phrases on it. My only complaint is that it turns off my music when I use it.

I was on vacation in Puerto Vallarta and my vocabulary was very limited. We travelled up into the hills and the offline version was a life saver. I used it repeatedly throughout my trip.

From my testing so far it seems pretty accurate and its easy to use. I just wish theyd given a little more time before bugging so much for a review.

Helps with what I need

I am a nurse and I use this app every day. In hospitals our Spanish speaking population is growing so rapidly that in order to serve and help this population you have to have at least the basics or a good communication tool. This app teaches and its a great communication app.

I start teaching in an esl school this week and wanted to practice a little.
